Responding to COVID-19 restrictions with an online ordering platform.
Limited to takeaway only under stage 3 Covid-19 restrictions, the Barwon Heads Hotel had to be creative in how they continued to operate. Their Drive Thru dinner concept would allow online orders to be placed and picked up in their drive thru bottle shops.
Focusing on the user experience, we quickly rolled out an online ordering system to work in with their existing WordPress website. Orders can be placed with ease and are automatically printed out by the venue’s docket printer. Once received, customers are sent an SMS confirmation with pickup time.
It worked so well that we rolled it out on Barwon Heads Hotel’s sister venues – the Torquay Hotel and Grovedale Hotel.
